Mobilno izobraževanje - nove metode poučevanja s pomočjo sodobne tehnologije. Primer dobre prakse

Tanja Ostrman Renault

Povzetek

Sodobna tehnologija in orodja, danes vse bolj uveljavljena podpora pri učenju tujega jezika, postajajo neizogibni pri študijskem procesu in pouku. Če želimo stopiti v korak z najnovejšimi izsledki in orodji na tem področju, je potrebno programe in predmete redno – včasih že med samim izvajanjem – dopolnjevati in posodabljati. Razvoju stroke danes še najbolje sledi internet z vedno novimi vsebinami. Rezultati so bili nad pričakovanimi.

Ključne besede: e-izobraževanje, m-izobraževanje, medkulturno izobraževanje, tehnologija.

Abstract

The most advanced technology and various accompanying tools have become a widely used support at learning and teaching of foreign languages. To be abreast with the latest outcomes and tools governing this area of action, it is of vital importance to complete or upgrade certain study subjects on a regular pace, if not already during their realisation itself. The development of any science is actually best followed by the internet having the ability of bringing up always new contents. On the other hand the choice of content and tools is far from being easy, even more so for students who are new on these fields of knowledge. Therefore, the College of Business DOBA in Maribor decided to facilitate the choice of their students by presenting new subjects related to the International Cultural dialogue in 2008 through new and more motivating means of communication. The teaching of foreign languages has therefore been subject to a pilot project implemented to test the m-learning, that is mobile-learning. This new method of learning was conceived to be used via a mobile channel. This channel was used to send motivational SMS messages containing short instructions for an activity which was planned and designed in another virtual environment. After the course a survey was carried out to find out how students accepted this way of communication as one of the learning tools. The results were above our expectations.
